The Official Take Back the Knit Contest, part 2
Take Back the Knit: a zine of knitcore feminism
(And thanks to everyone who submitted to part 1 of the contest!)
...We can officially move on to part 2 of The Official Take Back the Knit Contest.
Yep, that's the plan. Take Back the Knit t-shirts. Spread the word.
You design 'em.
An official pannel of judges will choose one or two we like best, and they'll be printed on sweatshop-free American Apparel tees at our local silkscreening co-op, Hardboiled Inc.
I don't know a whole lot about design myself but hopefully you artsy/graphic designy folks can come up with something. It may be helpful to know that the official TBTK font is "jamiro" and I also use "lucida handwriting" (though I'm open to a more attractive script font) and "minya nouvelle".
And of course, I'll make it worth your while. Similar to the last contest, the fine person who comes up with the winning design will receive:
* a Take Back the Knit t-shirt with their design on it.
* the satisfaction of knowing that knitsters all over the continent will be sporting your Take Back the Knit design.
* guest of honour status at the next zine launch party (if you don't live in or near Toronto, maybe it'll be an excuse to come visit).
* even more than my undying love and devotion - my respect for your creative abilities.
Submissions can be e-mailed to me at takebacktheknitATgmailDOTcom.
You've got till my return-from-Italy date: September 26.
